Consisting of a collaboration between two musicians, AFAR seeks to bridge the distance between the natural and the industrial, exploring the paradox between organic and electronic.

In 2014, the two met at a jam session and decided to make music together. Joseph comes from the electronic music scene, Elena from the jazz/soul, krautrock and singer songwriter music world. Together they develop a style of music that is new to them, combining these worlds. Soon after their formation they perform at festivals and concerts in and around Berlin. Their performances are more than just a concert. It is always exciting to watch them create worlds of sound by using many different instruments. Beyond the sound, the concert is like a work of art in itself due to the enormous stage presence and strong performance.
